عمرو بن زرارة بن قيس ابن الحارث بن عداء بن الحارث بن عوف ويقال: ابن عمرو بن جشم بن كعب بن قيس بن سعد بن مالك بن النّخع بن عمرو النّخعيّ من أهل الكوفة، أدرك عصر النّبيّ ﷺ، وكان ممّن سيّره عثمان بن عفّان من الكوفة إلى دمشق.
