علي بن معضاد بن ماضي أبو الحسن المقرئ الدباغ في الفراء كان حافظاً للقرآن، جيد القراءة. وكان طفيلياً. حدث عن القاضي أبي عبد الله الحسن بن أحمد بن عبد الواحد بن أبي الحديد الخطيب بسنده إلى ابن عباس عن النبي ﷺ قال في الاستنشاق: " ثنتين بالغتين أو ثلاثاً ". توفي أبو الحسن بن معضاد ويعرف بهروي سنة ثمان وأربعين وخمس مئة.
