علي بن محمد بن دنهش أبو الحسن أصلهم من أهل الكتاب، أسلموا على يد الوليد بن عبد الملك. حدث عن أبي الجهم أحمد بن الحسين بن طلاّب بسنده إلى أبي ذر الغفاري عن النبي ﷺ قال: " ليس الزهادة في الدنيا بتحريم الحلال، ولا إضاعة المال، ولكن الزهادة في الدنيا ألا تكون بما في يديك أوثق منك بما بيد الله ﷿، وأن تكون في ثواب المصيبة إذا أصبت بها أرغب منك فيها لو أنها بقيت لك ".
