    علي بن زيد بن علي أبو الحسن السّلمي الدّواجي المؤدّب كان يؤدّب في مسجد السلاّلين رأس درب التّبان، صلى في مسجد درب الحجر نحو خمسين سنة احتساباً، وكان عفيفاً مستوراً. حدث عن نصر بن إبراهيم المقدسي بسنده إلى أبي هريرة قال: أوصاني خليلي ﷺ بثلاث لا أدعهنّ: سبحة الضّحا في الحضر والسفر، وأن أصوم ثلاثة أيام من كلّ شهر وقال: إنه صيام الدهر وأن لا أنام إلا على وتر. ولد سنة إحدى وخمسين وأربع مئة. وتوفي سنة تسع وثلاثين وخمس مئة.
