عثمان بن الحسن بن نصر أبو عمرو أخو عمر الحلبي، قدم دمشق حاجاً. حدث عن عبد الرحمن بن عبيد الله بسنده إلى أبي أمامة عن النبي ﷺ قال: اسم الله الأعظم في سور ثلاث من القرآن، في البقرة وآل عمران وطه. قال القاسم أبو عبد الرحمن: فالتمست في البقرة فإذا هو في آية الكرسي " الله لا إله إلا هو الحي القيوم "، وفي آل عمران فاتحتها " الله لا إله إلا هو الحي القيوم "، وفي طه " وعنت الوجوه للحي القيوم ".
