    عتيق بن عمران بن محمد أبو بكر الربعي السبتي قدم دمشق سنة أربع وثمانين وأربع مئة. حدث عن أبي يعلى أحمد بن محمد العبدي، الفقيه المالكي، بسنده إلى جابر بن عبد الله قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ: " من قال لا إله إلا الله وحده لا شريك له واحداً صمداً، لم يلد ولم يولد، ولم يكن له كفواً أحد. إحدى عشرة مرة، كتب له ألفا ألف حسنة، ومن زاده الله ﷿ ". قتله أمير الجيوش وكان طالب بلده بعد مرجعه من بغداد، فرددته الريح إلى الإسكندرية، فحمل إليه فقتله في سنة أربع وثمانين وأربع مئة. وسبب قتله أنه وجدت معه كتب من المقتدي بأمر الله إلى أمير المغرب.
