عبد العزيز بن حيان بن صابر بن حريث أبو القاسم الأزدي المعولي الموصلي روى عن هشام بن عمار بسنده عن أنس قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ: " إن في جهنم رحى تطحن علماء السوء طحناً " وروى بسنده عن جابر قال: قال النبي ﷺ: " الاستجمار وتر، ورمي الجمار وتر، والسعي بين الصفاوالمروة وتر " قال أبو زكريا يزيد بن محمد بن إياس الأزدي في كتاب: " طبقات محدثي أهل الموصل ": عبد العزيز بن حيان بن جابر بن حريث المعولي، ومعولة من الأزد، كان فيه فضل وصلاح. وطلب الحديث، ورحل فيه، وأكثر الكتاب. حدث الناس دهراً طويلاً، وتوفي سنة إحدى وستين ومائتين.
