    عبد الرحمن بن يونس بن محمد أبو محمد الرقي السراج روى عن سويد بن سعيد بسنده عن أبي بكر الصديق قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ: " اخرج، فناد في المدينة: من شهد أن لاإله إلا الله، وأن محمداً رسول الله فله الجنة ". فخرجت، فلقيني عمر، فقال: أين؟ فأخبرته، فقال: ارجع إلى رسول الله ﷺ، فقل: يا رسول الله، دع الناس فإنهم يعملون، فإنهم إن سمعوا هذا اتكلوا، فلم يعملوا فرجعت إلى رسول الله ﷺ، فأخبرته بما قال لي عمر، فقال رسول الله ﷺ: " صدق عمر ". سئل أحمد عن عبد الرحمن بن يونس السراج، فقال: ما علمت منه إلا خيراً مات يعد سنة ست وأربعين ومائتين. وقيل إنه مات في سنة ثمان وأربعين ومائتين.
