عبد الرحمن بن عبيد الله بن عبد العزيز ابن الفضل بن صالح بن علي بن عبد الله بن العباس بن عبد المطلب أبو محمد - ويقال: أبو القاسم - الهاشمي الحلبي المعدل المعروف بابن أخي الإمام قدم دمشق سنة اثنتين وثلاث مئة، وحدث بها وبحلب. روى عن محمد بن قدامة الجوهري بسنده إلى ابي هريرة قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ: لأن يمتلئ جوف أحدكم قيحاً خير له من أن يمتلئ شعراً.
