عبد الله بن منصور بن عمران أبو بكر الربعي الواسطي المقرئ قدم دمشق. أنشد لأبي الحسن محمد بن علي بن أبي الصقر الواسطي لنفسه ارتجالاً وقد دخل عزاء لصبي وهو في عشر المئة، وبه ارتعاش، فتغامز عليه الحاضرون فقال: المتقارب إذا دخل الشيخ بين الشباب ... وقد مات طفل صغير رأيت اعتراضاً على الله إذ ... توفى الصغير وعاش الكبير فقل لابن شهرٍ وقل لابن ألفٍ ... وما بين ذاك: هذا المصير
