    سلمة بن العيّار بن حصن ابن عبد الرحمن أبو مسلم الفزاري الدمشقي والعيّار لقب، واسمه أحمد. حدث سلمة بن العيار عن مالك بسنده عن عائشة ﵂ أن رسول الله ﷺ: " إن الله يحب الرفق في الأمر كله " وحدث سلمة بن العيار عن عبد الله بن لهيعة بسنده عن عمرو بن العاص قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ: " قريش خالصة الله، فمن نصب لها حرباً، أو من حاربها، سُلب، ومن أرادها بسوء خُزي في الدنيا وفي الآخرة. مات سلمة بن العيّار سنة ثمان وستين ومئة. وقيل: سنة ثلاث وستين ومئة.
