الخضر بن علي بن الخضر ابن أبي هشام أبو القاسم السمسار، ويسمى أيضاً الحسين حدث عن أبي محمد عبيد الله بن الحسن بن حمزة بن أبي فخر البعلبكي العطار في شوال سنة خمس وثمانين وأربع مئة بسنده عن سالم عن أبيه أن النبي ﷺ، وأبا بكر، وعمر، وعثمان، كانوا يمشون أمام الجنازة. قال الشافعي ﵀: والحجة فيه؛ من مشي رسول الله ﷺ أثبت من أن يحتاج معها إلى غيرها؛ وإن في اجتماع أئمة الهدى بعده الحجة. ولد سنة خمس وسبعين وأربع مئة، ومات سنة حمس وستين وخمس مئة. وكان يترفض؛ وأصله من موالي بني أمية.
