جرير بن غطفان بن جرير أبو القاسم حدث عن عفان بسنده عن عبد الله قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ: " لا تذهب الدنيا ولا تنقضي حتى يملك رجل من أهل بيتي يواطئ اسمه اسمي ". وحدث عنه بسنده إلى أبي هريرة قال: قال رسول الله ﷺ: " من سأل عن علم فكتمه، ألجمه الله يوم القيامة بلجام من نار ". توفي جرير بن غطفان بدمشق، ليلة السبت مستهل المحرم، سنة ست وستين ومئتين.
