جبلة بن سحيم أبو سويرة ويقال: أبو سريرة - براءين - التيمي، ويقال الشيباني الكوفي. قال جبلة: سمعت ابن عمر يقول: قال رسول الله ﷺ: " الشهر هكذا وهكذا وهكذا "، وقبض إبهامه في الثالثة. قال جبلة بن سحيم: دخلت على معاوية بن أبي سفيان وهو في خلافته وفي عنقه حبل وصبيٌ يقوده فقلت: يا أمير المؤمنين أتفعل هذا وأنت على أربع؟! فقال: يا لكع اسكت، فإني سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول: " من كان له صبي فليتصاب له ". توفي جبلة بن سحيم في فتنة الوليد بن يزيد. وقال: وتوفي سنة خمسٍ وعشرين ومائة.
