    أحمد بن محمد بن الفتح ويقال ابن أبي الفتح بن خاقان أبو العباس بن النجاد العابد إمام جامع دمشق أحد الصالحين المعروفين. حدث أبو علي أحمد بن عمر بن الدلال إمام جامع دمشق قال: سمع ناس بأبي العباس أحمد بن محمد بن النجاد ﵀ وفضله، وما خصه الله به من العلم والورع، فسافروا من بلد بعيد إليه بنية الزيارة له. فلما وصلوا إلى باب داره سمعوا أنين الشيخ من وراء الباب لوجعٍ كان به ظاهر، أنكروا عليه أنينه لفضله. فلما دخلوا عليه ابتدأهم فقال: آه اسمٌ من أسماء الله يستروح إليه الأعلاء فزاد في أنفسهم أضعاف ما كان عندهم. توفي يوم الأحد لإحدى وعشرين ليلة خلت من شعبان سنة ستين وثلاث مئة.
