    أحمد بن محمد بن سُليمان، أبو الحسن العَلاَّف، المعروف بالفأفأ. حدث عن طالوت بن عَبَّاد، ومحمد بن عبد الملك بن أبي الشَّوارب، وصَبَّاح بن مروان، وهشام بن عَمَّار. روى عنه محمد بن مَخْلَد، والقاضي أبو الحسين الأشناني، وإسماعيل بن علي الخُطْبي. قال الخطيب: ما علمت من حاله إلا خيراً. توفي سنة خمس وثمانين ومائتين (١). ٦٦٩ - أحمد بن محمد بن سليمان. قال مسلمة: ثقة، روى عنه العقيلي. ٦٧٠ -

    أحمد بن محمد بن سليمان أبو الحسن البغدادي العلاف المعروف بابن الفأفاء سمع بدمشق وبغيرها. حدث سنة أربع وثمانين ومئتين عن طالوت بن عباد الصيرفي بسنده عن أبي أمامة قال: سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول: أول الآيات طلوع الشمس من مغربها. مات نصف المحرم سنة خمس وثمانين ومئتين.
