    أحمد بن علي بن يحيى بن العباس أبو منصور الأديب الأسداباذي قدم دمشق حاجاً سنة اثنتين وثلاثين وأربع مئة، وحدث بها وببغداد، وروى عنه أبو بكر الخطيب وغيره. حدث عن عبيد الله بن أحمد بن علي بسنده عن ابن عمر قال: كانت امرأة تأتي قوماً تستعير منهم الحلي ثم تمسكه. قال: فرفع ذلك إلى النبي ﷺ فقال: لتتب هذه المرأة إلى الله وإلى رسوله، وترد على الناس متاعهم. قم يا فلان فاقطع يدها. كان أحمد بن علي يحرف في كلامه، ويذكر شيئاً يدل على تخليطه وقلة تحصيله. ولد بالكرخ سنة ست وستين وثلاث مئة، وخرج من بغداد سنة أربع وأربعين واربع مئة. وكان بتبريز حياً في سنة خمسين وأربع مئة. وتوفي سنة إحدى وستين وأربع مئة.
