أحمد بن إبراهيم أبو سليمان الحراني قدم دمشق. حكى عنه كعب بن عمرو بن جعفر الخنجري، قال: سمعت أحمد بن إبراهيم الحراني يقول: نمت في بعض المساجد بدمشق فرأيت النبي ﷺ فقال لي: يا أبا سليمان، لم إذا استفتحت الصلاة لا تبتدىء ببسم الله الرحمن الرحيم؟ فإن بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم تسعة عشر حرفاً تدع في كل استفتاحك مئة وتسعين حسنة. وإذا صليت علي في الكتاب لا تكتب وسلم تدع أربعين حسنة. قلت: كيف: ذلك يا رسول الله؟ قال: لأن وسلم أربعة أحرف، لكل حرف عشر حسنات فتلك أربعون حسنة.
