يزيد بن ضبّة الثقفي ? - ١٣٠ هـ / ? - ٧٤٧ م يزيد بن مقسم الثقفي. من مواليهم، وضبة أمه: شاعر كبير، من أهل الطائف (بالحجاز) مات أبوه وخلفه صغيراً، فحضنته أمه، فنسب إليها. انقطع إلى الوليد بن يزيد بالشام، فكان لا يفارقه. ولما أفضت الخلافة إلى هشام، أبعد ابن ضبة، لاتصاله بالوليد؛ فخرج إلى الطائف، فأقام إلى أن ولي الوليد، فوفد عليه، فأدناه وضمه إليه وأكرمه. وفى الأغانى أن لابن ضبة ألف قصيدة اقتسمتها شعراء العرب وانتحلتها فدخلت فى أشعارها. وكان يتعمد الإتيان بغريب اللغة ومعتاص القوافي في شعره. مات بالطائف.
