    مدثر بن إبراهيم بن الحجاز ١٢٨٣ - ١٣٥٦ هـ / ١٨٦٦ - ١٩٣٧ م مدثر بن إبراهيم بن الحجاز. شاعر من شعراء السودان ولد في مينة بربر، ونشأ نشأة دينية، ثم أحضره والده الذي كان مأموراً على مدينة بربر ليتمرن على الكتابة بالمديرية، وأتقن فن الكتابة، ثم عاد إلى طلب العلم. ثم ذهب إلى الحج سنة ١٢٩٨، قاصداً سكنى المدينة بعد أداء الحج، ثم عاد إلى بربر فصادف ذلك قيام محمد أحمد المهدي، فخرج إليه واتصل به، واستمر معه حتى توفاه الله، وسمي بابن الحجاز لكثرة تردده على الديار الحجازية. توفي في أم درمان. له: بهجة الأرواح بمناجاة الكريم الفتاح ومدح نبيه المصباح.
