محمد علي هلال ١٢٣٩ - ١٣٢٠ هـ / ١٨٢٣ - ١٩٠٢ م محمد علي المشتهر بهلال السوداني الكندي العماري. شاعر ماهر، وأديب موهوب. ولد في العمارة. كان عالماً فاضلاً كاملاً مؤرخاً لغوياً، يحفظ أغلب القاموس والصحاح، وأكثر وقائع العرب وأنسابهم، وهو شاعر حسن الصوت مجيد في قراءة الشعر. هاجر إلى النجف لتحصيل العلم، فأخذ على علمائها الكبار، ثم رحل إلى قرية ذي الكفل على شاطئ الفرات، ثم تركها عائداً إلى النجف حيث توفي هناك. كان له نظم جيد.
