محمد عثمان الميرغني ١٢٠٨ - ١٢٦٨ هـ / ١٧٩٣ - ١٨٥٢ م محمد عثمان بن محمد أبي بكر بن عبد الله الميرغني، الحنفي الحسيني. مفسر، متصوف، هو أول من اشتهر من الأسرة (الميرغنية) بمصر والسودان. ولد بالطائف (في الحجاز) وتعلّم بمكة، وتصوّف، وانتقل إلى مصر، ثم قصد السودان، فاستقر في (الخاتمية) جنوبي (كسلا) وقام المهدي السوداني بثورته، فكان الميرغني ممّن قاومه. له: (تاج التفاسير لكلام الملك الكبير -ط) مجلدان، و (مجموع الغائب -ط) ديوان، و (الأنوار المصطفوية -ط) .
