محمد الموقفي ? - ٢١٥ هـ / ? - ٨٣٠ م محمد بن عاصم الموقفي، أبو الفرج. من شعراء اليتيمة، مصري، في شعره رقة، وإجادة الوصف. كان يكثر من وصف الأديرة ومحاسنها، نسبته إلى الموقف محلة كانت بفسطاط مصر. وقد ارتاب الدكتور إبراهيم النجار بما أورده الزركلي في ترجمته: وذهب إلى أنه خلط بين الشاعر وسميّه محمد بن عاصم بن جعفر المغافري المصري وهو من رواة الحديث. واتفق معه على باقي الترجمة، ويرجح النجار أن الشاعر هو أبو الفرج الموقفي المصري كما ذكر فؤاد سزكن، وأنه عاش في النصف الثاني من القرن الثالث.
