فَروة الأشجَعي ? - ? هـ / ? - ? م فَروة بن نوفَل الأشجَعي. أحد شعراء الخوارج، اعتزل القتال يوم النهروان في خمسمائة ونزل ناحية البندنيجين والدسكرة ثم أتىشهرزور. فلما بلغه أمر الصلح بين الحسن ومعاوية وولاية معاوية قال لأصحابه: قد جاء من لا نرتاب بأن الحق في قتاله وأقبل فنزل النخيلة. فندب معاوية أهل الكوفة لقتاله، فجاءه قومه وأدخلوه الكوفة وحبسوه ثم هرب من حبسه وخرج على المغيرة بن شعبة فقاتله وقتل فروة وأصحابه.
