علي محي الدين ? - ١١٥٠ هـ / ? - ١٧٣٧ م علي بن الحسين بن محي الدين بن أبي جامع العاملي. عالم كبير وأديب مغمور. ينتمي إلى أسرة عريقة، سكنت جبل عامل وتسلسل منها علماء وأدباء كثر، ولد في النجف ووفاته فيها. وقد كان جامعاً للمعقول مبرزاً في سائر الفنون، وهو مفسر محدث فقيه أصولي نحوي منطقي رياضي فلكي. وله مجموعة من المنظومات في الفقه والنحو. له: (الوجيز في تفسير القرآن العزيز) ، (شرح أربعين حديثاً في الفقه) لم يتم، (توقيف السائل إلى دليل المسائل) .
