عَقِيل بن مَسْعود ? - ? هـ / ? - ? م عقيل بن مسعود الكلبي. شاعر جاهلي، كان سيد قضاعة باليمن والقائم على أمرها في حربها مع حمدان، ابنه الربيع بن عقيل الشاعر ومسعود بن عقيل الذي قتل في هذه الحرب. ومما ورد له من الشعر قوله: معاوي إني قد ذهبت بوسمة وهو معاوية بن دومان الهمداني وقد طعن ابنه يزيد عقيل بن مسعود في أنفه فخرمه ... فأرسل الشاعر هذه الأبيات إلى معاوية يتوعده بالانتقام.
