عقبة المضرب ? - ? هـ / ? - ? م عقبة بن كعب بن زهير المزني، أبو العوام. شاعر ورث الشاعرية عن أبيه وأجداده، بيت أبي سلمى المزني. لقب بالمضرب لأنه شبب بامرأة من بني أسد فضربه أخوها مائة ضربة بالسيف، فلم يمت وأخذ الدية، فأفاق وأنشأ يقول شعراً يرثي لحاله. له شعر جيد، ومهاجيات مع ابن أخته الرماح بنأبرد المعروف بابن ميادة.
