    عبد الكريم الزين ١٢٨٤ - ١٣٦٠ هـ / ١٨٦٧ - ١٩٤١ م عبد الكريم بن محمد أبو خليل بن سليمان بن علي بن زين الأصفر الخزرجي الشهير بالزين. عالم كبير وأديب شهير، وشاعر مطبوع. ولد في جبع ونشأ فيها على والده وعلى مجموعة من العلماء الذين كانوا يتوافدون عليها، ثم هاجر إلى النجف وبقي فيها عشرين عاماً، فأخذ على كبار علمائها، ثم عاد إلى مسقط رأسه وبقي فيها إلى أن توفي. كان شعره عربي الأسلوب، عراقي اللهجة، نجفي الإيقاع. له ديوان شعر، وعدة مؤلفات في الطب والفقه، ومراسلات نثرية جيدة.
