عبد الحسين الجواهري ١٢٨١ - ١٣٣٥ هـ / ١٨٦٤ - ١٩١٦ م عبد الحسين بن عبد علي بن محمد حسن صاحب كتاب جواهر الكلام. عالم كبير، وشاعر شهير، وأديب معروف، وهو جد الشاعر محمد مهدي الجواهري. ولد في النجف، ونشأ بها على أبيه حيث درس مبادئ العلوم عليه وعلى مجموعة من أفاضل أسرته وأدبائهم. ثم اختلف إلى مجموعة من العلماء أصحاب الحلقات، فأخذ عنهم الأصول والفقه. توفي في النجف مريضاً بالتيفوئيد، وكان له مراسلات كثيرة مع ولاة بغداد وسلاطينهم.
