عباس القرشي ? - ١٢٩٩ هـ / ? - ١٨٨١ م عباس بن محمد بن عبد علي الجعيفري القرشي الربعي النجفي المعروف بمدثر. أديب حر، وشاعر مطبوع. قال عنه صاحب الحصون: كان لغوياً شاعراً ماهراً بليغاً لسناً، خطاطاً يكتب الخط الجيد. نشأ في النجف محباً للعلم والأدب، وحضر على جملة من الفضلاء، وتعاطى الشعر وكان ذا قريحة جيدة، فبرع في نظم الشعر. رحل في طلب العيش فجاب البلاد وطاف بإيران، ودخل خراسان والشام وحلب والقسطنطينية ودخل مصر. مات وهو في طريق العودة إلى النجف في نواحي حلب ودفن هناك. له شعر جيد.
