    صيفي الأسلَت ? - ١ هـ / ? - ٦٢٢ م صيفي بن عامر الأسلت بن جشم بن وائل الأوسي، الأنصاري أبو قيس. وفي الإصابة: (أبو قيس: مختلف في اسمه، قيل: صيفي، وقيل: الحارث، وقيل: عبد الله) . شاعر جاهلي من حكمائهم، كان رأس الأوس، وشاعرها وخطيبها، وقائدها في حروبها. وكان يكره الأوثان، ويبحث عن دين يطمئن إليه، فلقي علماء من اليهود ورهباناً وأحباراً. ووصف له دين إبراهيم فقال: أنا على هذا. ولما ظهر الإسلام، اجتمع برسول الله صلى عليه وسلم، وتريث في قبول الدعوة، فمات بالمدينة قبل أن يسلم.
