    خفاف بن ندبة السلمي ? - ٢٠ هـ / ? - ٦٤٠ م خفاف بن ندبة بن عمير بن الحارث بن عمرو (الشريد) بن قيس بن عيلان السلمي. اشتهر بالنسبة إلى أمه ندبة بنت شيطان، وكانت سوداء سباها الحارث بن الشريد حين أغار على بني الحارث بن كعب، فوهبها لابنه عمير فولدت له خفافاً، وهو من فرسان العرب المعدودين، يُكنى أبا خُراشَة، أدرك الإسلام فأسلم وشهد فتح مكة وغزوة حنين والطائف، ومدح أبو بكر، وكان أحد أغربة العرب، وهو ابن عم الخنساء الشاعرة. وأكثر شعره مناقضات له مع العباس بن مرداس وعباس هو قائل البيت التالي لخفاف: أبا خراشة أما أنت ذا نفر فإن قومي لم تأكلهم الضبع وروي عن الأصمعي قوله: خفاف ودريد بن الصمة أشعر الفرسان.
