امرؤ القيس الكلبي ? - ? هـ / ? - ? م امرؤ القيس بن حمام بن مالك بن عبيدة بن عبد الله بن كنانة بن بكر، ينتهي نسبه إلى ابن وبرة. وكان يدعى عدل الأصرة، شاعر جاهلي عاصر المهلهل بن ربيعة المتوفى سنة (٥٣١م - ٩٤ق. هـ) وقد عناه الأخير بقوله: لما توعر في الكراع هجينهم هلهلت أثأر جابراً أو صنبلا وعيره فيه أنه هجين لأن أمه (من الإماء) وكان زهير بن جناب الكلبي قد أغار على بني تغلب ومعه امرؤ القيس الكلبي فلما دارت رحى المعركة انهزم عنهم، فأتى المهلهل على ذكره في قصيدته. وبهذا البيت قيل للمهلهل مهلهلاً.
