    النَوّار الجِل ? - ? هـ / ? - ? م النوار بنت جل بن عدي بن عبد مناة. زوج مالك بن زيد مناة بن تميم، أخت الشاعر سعد بن مالك، وكان مالك يعزب في الإبل ولما اهتداها ليلة زواجه بالنوار خرج سعد فعزب بالإبل ثم أوردها لظمئها، ومالك قد تزعفر لعرسه، فأراد القيام فمنعته إمرأته فجعل سعد يزاول سقيها وهو مشتمل ويقول معرضاً بأخيه مالك: يظل يوم وردها مزعفرا وهي خناطيل تجوس الخضرا فقالت النوار لمالك: ألا تسمع ما يقول أخوك؟ أجبه قال: وما أقول. قالت قل: أوردها سعد وسعد مشتمل ما هكذا تورد يا سعد الإبل وقد ذهب قولها مثلاً بين العرب.
