    أحمد عزت العمري ١٢٤٤ - ١٣١٠ هـ / ١٨٢٨ - ١٨٩٢ م أحمد عزت باشا بن محمود الفاروقي العمري. شاعر، باحث، من أهل الموصل، رحل إلى الأستانة وولي بعض الأعمال، ثم عين (متصرفاً) في شهرزور فمتصرفاً في الأحساء -وكانت قاعدة نجد- فمتصرفاً في تعز (باليمن) وعاد إلى الأستانة فعكف على التأليف فجمع شعره في (ديوان -خ) كبير (في الخزانة التيمورية) وجمع شعر عبد الغفار الأخرس. توفي بالأستانة. له: (العقود الجوهرية -ط) وفيه تراجم بعض شعراء عصره ممن مدحوا أبا الهدى الصيادي، و (رحلة إلى نجد) ، ورسالة في (التصوير الشمسي -خ) وترجم عن التركية (احكام الأراضي -ط) ، وله (سفينة -خ) جمع فيها بعض شعره ورسائله.
