ابن عمرو الكندي ? - ? هـ / ? - ? م امرؤ القيس بن عمرو بن الحارث بن معاوية الأكرمين بن ثور بن مرتع الكندي. شاعر من شعراء الجاهلية وهو قرابة امرئ القيس بن حجر وكانت حرب قد وقعت بين بني الحارث بن معاوية رهط هذا الشاعر وبين بني تميم فكانت الهزيمة لبني تميم. وانتصرت عليهم بنو الحارث وفتكوا بهم فتكاً ذريعاً فقال في ذلك شعراً أورده صاحب كتاب أخبار المراقسة.
