    ابن عدي الكلبي ? - ? هـ / ? - ? م امرؤ القيس بن عدي بن أوس بن جابر بن كعب بن عليم بن جناب بن معاذ بن حصين بن كعب بن عليم بن كلب بن وبرة. وقد ذكره السيوطي وقال إنه صحابي وهو نفسه الكلبي وقد كان ماجداً في قومه شريفاً على عشيرته فارساً شجاعاً وشاعراً مجيداً وقد اتصل شرفه القديم بشرف جديد إذ كان صهراً لآل بيت النبي ﷺ. قال الآمدي: كان أسيراً في بني شيبان وقد أسلم في عهد عمر بن الخطاب وولاه على من أسلم من قضاعة بالشام. وأنكح بناته الثلاث لعلي وابنيه الحسن والحسين. وقد ذكره صاحب كتاب أخبار المراقسة.
