    ٨٩٥ - ابن السِّمْسَار * الحافظ، المفيد، محدِّث الشَّام، أبو العَبَّاس، محمدُ بنُ موسى بن الحسين، الدِّمَشْقِي. روى عن محمد بن خُرَيم، وابنِ جَوْصا، وأبي الدَّحْدَاح، وعبد الله بن محمد بن السَّري الحِمْصي الحافظ، وأبي الجَهْم بن طلَّاب، والمَحَاملي، وابن مَخْلَد، وطبقتهم. روى عنه: تمام الرَّازي، ومكي بن الغَمْر، ومحمد بن عوف المُزَني، وأخوه أبو الحسن محمد بن السِّمْسَار، وآخرون. قال عبد العزيز الكَتَّاني: كان ثِقَةً نبيلًا حافظًا، كتب القَنَاطير. وقال المَيدَاني: توفِّي في رمضان سنةَ ثلاث وستين وثلاث مة.
