٦٧٤ - محمدُ بنُ محمدِ بنِ رَجَاء * ابن السِّنْدي، الإِمامُ الحافظ، أبو بكر الإِسْفَراييني، مصنِّف "الصحيح" ومخرِّجه على كتاب مُسْلم. سمع: إسحاقَ بنَ راهويه، وأحمدَ بنَ حبل، وابنَ المديني، وابنَ نُمير، وأبا بكر بنَ أبي شَيبة، وخلقًا. وعنه: أبو عَوَانة، وأبو حامد بنُ الشَّرقي، ومحمدُ بنُ صالح بن هانئ، وابنُ الأخرم، وأبو النَّضر محمدُ بن محمد، وغيرهم. قال الحاكم: كان ديِّنًا، ثَبْتًا، مقدَّمًا في عصرِه، سمع جدَّه رَجَاء ... وسمَّى جماعة (١). مات سنةَ ستٍّ وثمانين ومئتين، قاله بشر بنُ أحمد، وكان من أبناء الثمانين. رحمه اللَّهُ تعالى.
