    ٢١٢ - أبو غَسَّان محمدُ بنُ مُطَرِّف * (ع) المدني الحافظ. روى عن: محمد بن المُنْكدر، وحسّان بن عَطِيَّة، وصفوان بن سُليم، وأبي حازم الأعرج. روى عنه: الثَّوري مع تقدُّمِه، وابنُ وَهْب، وآدمُ بنُ أبي إياس، وعليُّ بنُ عيّاش الحِمصي، وسعيدُ بنُ أبي مريم، وعليُّ بنُ الجَعْد، وغيرهم.وقدم على المهدي بغداد فأكرَمَه. ووثقه أحمد، وغيره. مات قبل السَّبعين ومئة (١). ﵀.
