    ١٦٥ - عبد الرحمن بن يزيد * (ع) ابن جابر، الإمام الفقية الحافظ، أبو عتبة الأزديُّ الدمشقيُّ الدَّاراني. روى عن: أبي سلّام مَمْطُور، وأبي الأشعث الصّنعاني، وعبدِ الله بن عامر اليَحْصُبي، والزهري، وخلق. وعنه: ابنُ المبارك، والوليد، ومحمد بن شعيب بن شابور، وعمر بن عبد الواحد، وحُسين الجُعفي، وغيرُهم. وقد وَفَد على المنصور لمَّا طلبه، وكان كبير القدر، من أئمَّة الشاميِّين. وثقهُ ابنُ معين، وأبو حاتم، وغيرهما.وقد كان يركبُ مع أبيه في أيام الوليد بن عبد الملك. قال أبو مسْهِر: قد رأيته (١). توفي سنةَ ثلاثٍ وخمسين ومئة. رحمة اللهِ عليه.
