    ٦٧٠ - أبو منصور المعير أبو منصور محمد بن أحمد بن العبير المعير من أهل نيسابور. كان من المتمولين، وكان يرغب في حضور مجالس أهل العلم وينفق عليهم، وكان نبيلاً. سمع أبا الحسن علي بن أحمد المديني كتبت عنه شيئاً يسيراً منصرفي من العراق، وخرج إلى الحج ولما فرغ منه توفي في رجوعه بالكوفة في اليوم الثالث من صفر سنة ثلاث وأربعين وخمسمئة
