    ٥٧٧ - أبو الحسن الجوهري أبو الحسن علي بن محمد بن أبي الحسن وقيل الحسن الجوهري الصائغ من أهل مرو. شيخ صائن، صالح من أهل الخير والصدق، كان مع الإمام والدي بنيسابور. وسمع الحديث معه من أبي الحسن علي بن أحمد المديني، وأبي سعد عبد الواحد بن عبد الكريم القشيري، وأبي العباس الفضل بن عبد الواحد التاجر، وغيرهم. قرأت عليه وظني أنه مات في سنة أربعين وخمسمئة
