    ٦٩٣٧ - كثير بن زياد [د، ت، ق] من شيوخ بلخ. روى عن الحسن. وعنه حماد بن زيد. وثق، وتكلم فيه ابن حبان، ثم قال أبو سهل البرسانى: أصله بصري سكن بلخ ثم سمرقند، أستحب مجانبة ما انفرد به، وهو الذي روى عن مسة (١) ، عن أم سلمة: كانت النفساء على عهد رسول الله ﷺ تقعد أربعين يوما ... الحديث. رواه زهير بن معاوية، عن علي بن عبد الاعلى، عن أبي سهل، وهو كثير بن زياد. وقال ابن معين، وأبو حاتم، والنسائي: ثقة.
