    ٥٣٨٩ - علي بن خَلَف المصري، لا أدري مَنْ هو الساعة. قال ابن يونس: لم يكن يساوي شيئًا، انتهى. وهذا الرجل من أهل بغداد. ذكره ابن يونس في "تاريخ الغرباء" وقال:قدم إلى مصر، وحدّث بها، ولم يكن يَسْوَى في الحديث شيئًا، توفي بمصر سنة ٣٠٧ (¬١) في ربيع الآخر. قال: وهو أخو أبي عمرو صاحب الطِّراز. وذكر الخطيبُ أنه رَوَى عن محمد بن عبيد بن حِسَاب، ولُوَين.
