٣٥١٢ - علي بن الجعد. مولى أم سلمة المخزومية امرأة أبي العباس أمير المؤمنين. أخبرني عبد الرحمن بن إسحاق القاضي قال: جاءني علي بن الجعد بسجل أبيه بعتقه من أم سلمة فيه شهادة جدي إبراهيم بن سلمة ورجل آخر معه ممن كان يدخل عليها. قال علي بن الجعد: ولدت سنة ست وثلاثين ومائة في آخر خلافة أبيالعباس. وقد روى علي عن شعبة وزهير بن معاوية وصخر بن جويرية وليث بن سعد وحماد بن سلمة وسفيان الثوري وأبي جعفر الرازي وغيرهم. وتوفي ببغداد في سنة ثلاثين ومائتين لخمس بقين من رجب ودفن في مقبرة باب حرب. وكان له يوم توفي ست وتسعون سنة وأشهر.
