٢٥٨٩ - محمد بن عبد الرحمن بن أبي ليلى بن بلال بن بليل بن أحيحة بن الجلاح الأنصاري ثم أحد بني جحجبا بن كلفة من بني عمرو بن عوف من الأوس. أجمعوا لنا على أنه توفي بالكوفة سنة ثمان وأربعين ومائة. وقد كان ولي القضاء لبني أمية ثم وليه لبني العباس وعيسى بن موسى على الكوفة وأعمالها. أخبرنا الفضل بن دكين قال: كان محمد بن عبد الرحمن بن أبي ليلى يوم مات قد بلغ اثنتين وسبعين سنة. أخبرنا أحمد بن عبد الله بن يونس قال: حدثنا أبو شهاب قال: أخبرنا ابن أبي ليلى قال: لا أعقل شيئا من شأن أبي غير أني أعرف أنه كانت له امرأتان وكان له حبان أخضران ينبذ عند هذه يوما وعند هذه يوما.
