٢٢٠٨ - المسيب بن نجبة بن ربيعة بن رياح بن عوف بن هلال بن شمخ بن فزارة. شهد القادسية وشهد مع علي بن أبي طالب مشاهده. وقتل يوم عين الوردة مع التوابين الذين خرجوا وتابوا من خذلان الحسين. فبعث الحصين بن نمير برأس المسيب بن نجبة مع أدهم بن محرز الباهلي إلى عبيد الله بن زياد. وبعث به عبيد الله بن زياد إلى مروان بن الحكم فنصبه بدمشق.
