١٠٩ - وأخوه لأمه معتب بن عبيد بن أياس بن تيم بن شعبة بن سعد الله بن فران بن بلي بن عمرو بن الحاف بن قضاعة. هكذا قال محمد بن عمر. وقال محمد بن إسحاق: هو معتب بن عبدة. وقال عبد الله بن محمد بن عمارة الأنصاري: هو معتب بن عبيد بن سواد بن الهيثم بن ظفر. وأمه من بني عذرة من بني كاهل وأخوه لأمه عبد الله بن طارق بن عمرو البلوي حليف بني ظفر. فمن لم يعرف نسبه في بني ظفر جعله من بلي لمكان أخيه عبد الله بن طارق. وليس لمعتب بن عبيد عقب. وورثه ابن عمه أسير بن عروة بن سواد بن الهيثم بن ظفر. وشهد معتب بن عبيد بدرا واحدا وقتل يوم الرجيع شهيدا بمر الظهران. خمسة نفر.
