    ٩٧٥ - وَالِد أَبي الطَيِّب أحمدَ بن الحُسَين المُتَنَبِّي، كان يعرف بِعِيْدَان السَقَّاء (¬٣). (٧٦١) أخبرنا القَاضِي أبو القَاسِم التَّنُوخِي، عن أبيه قال: حدثني أبو الحَسَن محمد بن يحيى العَلَوي الزَيْدِي قال: كان المُتَنَبِّي وهو صَبِيٌّ يَنزلُ في جِوَارِي بالكُوفَة، وكان أبوه يُعرَف: بِعِيْدَان السَقَّاء، يَسْتَقِي لَنَا ولأهل المَحلَّة،ونَشَأ وهُو مُحِبًّا للعِلْم والأَدْب. وذكر خبرًا قد سقناه في «كتاب التاريخ» (¬١).
